 | About UsHere at DoxieWoods, we strive to meet the AKC Standard in our Dachshunds. There are so many coat and color/pattern variations in this amazing breed that we are almost certain this goal will never quite be met. Each pup we produce is evaluated for show potential and personality by our strict standards (and everyone judges differently) before we seek homes for them. Here at DoxieWoods, each pup is checked by our veterinarian, up to date on shots & dewormings, genetic health guaranteed, and socialized with humans and other dogs (from the day they are born). They are placed after 8 weeks of age with a complete new puppy kit and ongoing support from us at any time. Whether you prefer a red, a black & tan, or a cream, a brindle, a piebald, or a dapple, our babies at DoxieWoods are known for giving us the most beautiful and, at times, unusual, colors & patterns in the South.

Our History
We have raised dogs as a hobby for decades. Dachshunds were our favorite small dogs since childhood, and, when we decided to make this our full time avocation, we focused our energies on this noble and beautiful breed! For seven years, as of 2011, we have focused our energies on learning more about this breed and providing healthy, wonderful pets to our client families. Now we are beginning to learn/re-learn the ropes of the show ring with our best babies and want our client families to have the same joy!

They are the only breed that competes in all seven major American Kennel Club Events: Conformation, Agility, Obedience, Earth Dog, Canine Good Citizenship, & Lure Coursing.

Save the Weenies Doxie Rescue is a private no-kill Dachshund rescue based on the property here at DoxieWoods. We take word of mouth dachshund referrals from veterinarians, private citizens, and other rescue organizations, as space allows.
